THE CHICAGO CONSERVATION CENTER

Since 1983, we have offered an ever widening array of conservation services. After beginning as a provider solely for paintings conservation, we have grown to include the conservation of works of art on paper, photography, textiles and murals. Most recently, we have added conservation services for furniture, frames and decorative objects.

We welcome you to join us as we celebrate the four year anniversary of the Furniture laboratory, and the three year anniversary of our Gilding and Frame Conservation.

Please visit our regularly updated website to learn about each of our staff members. We invite you to sign up for our bi-monthly newsletter. We also welcome you to visit and tour the facility, and are happy to answer your inquiries.

As an extension to our conservation departments, we also offer options for conservation archival framing, mounts, and museum quality vitrines. Additionally, we are proud to offer you the option for professional art and furniture handling, transported by our trained art handlers in our alarmed, air ride, and climate controlled vehicles.

Our expert staff and well equipped labs offer proven and up to date conservation services and treatments. Careful consideration, including an assessment of condition, is given to each work of art or piece of furniture. A customized treatment plan is then developed to address the special needs of the item in question, with regard to the stated client requirements. Treatment plans are created and monitored to completion utilizing the least invasive, most reversible and archival materials currently available to the conservation community.

As a conservation company, we understand our role as partners and stewards in the care of your treasured collections. Therefore, we take every measure to honor an artist’s original intent and characteristics. This is our role as conservators and represents the heart of what we do.

We invite your inquiries as well as the future opportunity to assist you with our services. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Heather Becker

"Miss Big Eyes" arrived yesterday....the transformation is amazing. The deep color tones are wonderful. The painting became alive. I look at the old pictures of the painting, and I am reminded of the dedicated work that you do. This very unimportant tiny piece of our art history is restored.
I know that you work on antiquities and the works of masters, but you have taken the time to renew my "tiny treasures". I am grateful to each and everyone of you. I shall continue to look for the discarded pieces that most people have all but thrown away. If I find them, I will send them to you... and you will breath new life into the past."
