CoOL or "Conservation OnLine" is a project of the Stanford University Libraries directed toward the conservation of library media, archives and museum materials.

(AIC) The American Institute for Conservation of Historic & Artistic Works
The American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (AIC) is the national membership organization of conservation professionals dedicated to preserving the art and historic artifacts of our cultural heritage for future generations.

The Getty Conservation Institute
The Getty Conservation Institute (GCI) works internationally to advance the field of conservation through scientific research, field projects, education and training, and the dissemination of information in various media.

Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material, Inc.
In Australia, the national organisation for conservators and people interested in the preservation of cultural material is the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material Inc. (AICCM) Conservation covers the related activities of preservation and restoration and concerns the maintenance and safety of cultural material. The term "Cultural Material" refers to all types of objects, ranging from the purely functional through to the purely decorative. It encompasses all items of historic, aesthetic, sentimental and monetary value.

CAMEO
CAMEO is a searchable encyclopedia developed at the Conservation and Collections Management Department at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. CAMEO contains chemical, physical, visual, and analytical information on over 10,000 historic and contemporary materials used in the conservation, preservation, and production of artistic, architectural, and archaeological materials.

Peebles Island Resource Center
The six conservation laboratories that are part of the Peebles Island Resource Center (PIRC)were established in 1974 as a unit within the Bureau of Historic Sites of the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP). For over a quarter century, the PIRC conservation labs located in a rehabilitated textile factory in Waterford, New York, have provided state-of-the-art conservation and collections care to OPRHP's State Historic Sites, State Historic Parks and State Parks. Since 1986 this high level of preservation support has also been provided under contract to government clients within New York State.

National Committee on Carved Stones in Scotland
The National Committee on Carved Stones in Scotland was formed in 1993 to co-ordinate responses to the threats of damage and destruction faced by Scotland's carved stones from the weather and other natural and human causes. It is an independent body composed of Representative Members from Scottish national organisations, plus a Chairperson, and up to three co-opted Individual Members.

The Hornemann Institute
The non-profit Hornemann Institute offers information and services in the field of conservation and restoration.

Western Association for Art Conservation (WAAC)
WAAC, the Western Association for Art Conservation, is a nonprofit membership organization for professional conservators. WAAC was founded in 1975 to bring together conservators practicing in the western United States to exchange ideas, information and news. Although WAAC is specifically a regional organization for the western states including Alaska and Hawaii, any individual or institution may become a member regardless of location or national boundary. All payments to WAAC, however, must be drawn on a US bank in US dollars.

CIDOC is the international focus for the documentation interests of museums and related organizations.

The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings
The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings was founded by William Morris in 1877 to counteract the highly destructive 'restoration' of medieval buildings being practised by many Victorian architects. Today it is the largest, oldest and most technically expert national pressure group fighting to save old buildings from decay, demolition and damage.

Institute of Historic Building Conservation
The Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) is the professional institute which represents conservation professionals in the public and private sectors in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Learning Stone
The work of the Trust has preserved the knowledge and skills of stone working on Portland through an ongoing programme in Tout Quarry, Independent Quarry and the Drill Hall. European Masonry Data Bank
The purpose of EMDB is to collect basic data on experimental and numerical research of masonry carried out in European countries and worldwide. The idea of collecting data was generated from need for promotion and upgrade of the efficiency of research on masonry. This is important nowadays when non-EC European countries are joining their own research potential to EC members' efforts. The data collected in EMDB will support the further development and implementation of European codes, particularly Eurocode 6, Eurocode 8 and other related European Norms.
